School District of the nation's second largest prepares for the start of fall semester student, critics have been working some healthier menu items soon to be found in the canteens throughout Los Angeles sampling.
The Los Angeles Times reports that fruit and vegetables canned and frozen are replaced with farmers market fresh salads, tostadas and hummus made from scratch; and chicken nuggets, pizza and corn dogs pushed out tamales, roasted chicken and vegetarian stew pozole.

Moving towards healthier options offered by the school district vouches for healthier students? Not at all, but it's a start. An expensive: Budgeting for meals is up to almost $ 1 for every meal (17 cents) and almost 20 million dollars of the 120 million dollar budget will be awarded for fruits and vegetables are waiting to new regulations expected from USDA next summer. Calories are reduced as is sodium count and the absence of chocolate and strawberries sugar-sweetened milk will reduce sugar intake in some cases, more than half.
