Skin may be at its most fickle between seasons. The fresh air of a near-fall, mixing with the searing summer sun still can be dried out and itching sensation. Bottled lotions in factories with fillers, preservatives and ingredients are cheap mass hardly nourishment despite the allegations as "extra moisturizing" or "makes skin soft as silk feel". Making your own with lo-fi elements most likely already in your kitchen is cooler, less expensive and more effective than anything you can buy at the shop ... as if you needed another reason to get naked, nothing says sexy like eco expert skin smooth.
The basis of any quality moisturizer is an oil that moisturizes, softens and seals in moisture. A lot of people Swear by plain coconut oil for lustrous skin, scalp and hair. Almond, jojoba, Sesame and olive oil are also excellent choices. Cocoa and shea butter also are beneficial for the skin and can be mixed with oil or used alone.
Have you ever cracked open a leaf of aloe gel and plump oozy, clear? Is a powerful healer — both internally and externally — and is a common ingredient in skincare products. Using aloe fresh itself is particularly useful for insect stings, dry patches, and other skin irritations. You can also mix in your moisturizer in the House for an added boost to beautiful skin.
Roses are purifying and nourishing the skin. Rosewater home added to your moisturizer takes aromatic and healing properties.
Oatmeal has been used for centuries to treat the skin stressed. Is great for sunburn, acne, poison ivy and can leave you feeling silky smooth skin and ultra.
Honey is a miracle medicine known as hydrating and purifying benefits for skin. But it is not for everyone — especially vegans or people with sensitivity to bee products.
There are many more components, you can add a simple skin moisturizer homemade, including fresh fruit ( fishing or grape skins are amazing), ginger root, essential oils, fresh green tea and cider vinegar. But keeping it simple is an exploration in purity and a simple way to moisturize without a lot of prep.
Mix 2 ounces of oil (different types of merger goes well). Optional: Add .25 softened cocoa or Shea butter, 1 tablespoon ground oatmeal, 1 teaspoon rosewater and about 2 inches of aloe skinned and puree. Blend in food processor, add .25 TSP vitamin C powder (Ascorbic acid) as a preservative agent, if you add aloe and oatmeal. Cool shop.
